WUNDERLICH SLIDING DOOR ROLLER REPLACEMENT.

door

If you have the same type of door the following may assist when you need to replace the door rollers.

"wunderlich" may be shown on the door handle.

 First step.
The screen roller hangers are unscrewed and the screen door is removed.

Second step.
Is to remove the fixed panel.

To remove the upper and lower fixed panel holding brackets.

inner panel screw
With the door fully closed reveal and remove the inside upper bracket holding screw (black arrow).
This screw is what prevents a burglar removing the panel and gaining entry, it is easily missed.

LH mounts

Remove the upper fixed panel screw (green arrow) and remove the upper bracket.
Replace the screw as it holds the panel frame together.

lower bracket
Remove the two lower bracket holding screws (green arrows) and remove the lower bracket.
Replace the screw in the panel as it holds the panel frame together.

The fixed panel should be moved towards the center. The panel can then be lifted to clear the bottom track and brought outwards at the bottom.

Third step.
Remove the door by lifting it up until the rollers clear the track, then bring it outwards at the bottom.

Forth step.
Replace the roller units.

Loosen the roller screws (picture above). The roller units slide out of the ends of the bottom door frame.  Unlike some doors they do not come out the bottom.
To expose the ends of the bottom door frame remove the door side holding screws and bring the bottom door frame away from the glass just enough to replace the roller unit. Do each end in turn minimizing disturbance of the glazing.
In restoring the bottom rail position ensure the glass glazing gasket is sitting correctly. Soapy water helps.

Fifth step.
Reverse the procedure to reinstall the door. If the door does not align correctly the high end can be lowered by unscrewing the roller screw a turn or two.

Sixth step.
Reverse the procedure to reinstall the fixed panel.

Final step.
Replace screen door.

The two "U" shaped gray plastic parts shown in the second and third pictures can be adjusted so the door does not rattle and can still slide easily.
If they get in the way when installing the door, they can be temporally removed. If the plastic parts are temporarily removed, put the screws back in as they hold the door together.
